Your feedback, please!

It's been three months since Fresh Purls joined the blogosphere, and it's been a very interesting experiment, teaching us another way of interacting with our customers. If you've been reading this blog, Thank you very much! If you've been commenting, same goes but with whipped cream and a cherry on top.

Mmmmm... whipped cream...

Oops! slight distraction there. Anyway, your blogista would love to know how to make this communication channel even more relevant and useful in the future. So, please take just a moment and let us know in the comments what you /like/don't like/find useful/ about this blog. What would you like to see more of? What should we drop altogether?

Do you like reading about other knitters, à la the Portraits in Yarn?

Do you value shop news and announcements such as upcoming classes and events?

Should we have more pictures and stories about interesting knitting and crochet projects?

Would you like us to add something? Book Reviews? Yarn Reviews? More about topics we haven't been covering (as much)? Felting? Crocheting?

How do you like the current rate of turnover? Do we update the blog too often or not often enough?

Any and all feedback will be gratefully received. And thank you again, dear readers.

  1. This is probably the least helpful inout ever, in terms making the blog even better, but I think you're doing great! Don't change a thing!

  4. I've been really enjoying the blog. I don't think you need to change anything. But if you want to make changes, any that you suggested would be good, especially book and yarn reviews. But really, you're doing great!!

  5. It is good, and I like the way you change the focus from post to post.

A once a week or once a month book or blog or site review would be nice (pick a day of the week and stay with it so folks will check in that day, perhaps).

It would also be nice if the special days in the shop were posted in the sidebar (Tuesday's charity knits and its time frame, for example).

    Keep up the good work!

  6. I enjoy the blog. I like that you keep things "fresh". It's always disappointing to check Google Reader and see one of your favorite blogs has nothing new. You do a great job of avoiding that.

I like your book review or yarn review idea. As a new knitter, another idea that I'd like is a "Tip of the Week/Month" or something like that. Nothing really verbose, just something short and simple. Example: I'd love to know how to substitute a yarn choice. How do others make a guage? Just simple things that others might take for granted. Or, things you've figured out over your years of experience.

I've rambled. I like you blog. Keep doing what you do.

  7. I love this blog - I like reading about other knitters and what they are making. I also would love yarn reviews, book reviews and what's new in the shop info.

    Great Job!!!

  8. Eileen,

Love your suggestion about listing regular activities in the sidebar. Take a look and let us know if this is more or less what you had in mind. BTW, Needed Knits, the Tuesday night charity knitting group, is over for the Spring, and will start up again in the Fall. More details to come at the end of the summer.

We also moved up the list of blogs we link to. Feel free to recommend other blogs that you enjoy!

  9. I love checking this blog several times a week. It's updated frequently, which is great, and always has something new - people, sales, patterns, yarns. I'd love some book reviews, some new yarn reviews, what yarns could be substitutes for each other, and more about other yarn crafts besides knitting (crochet, weaving, etc.). But even if you kept it just like it is I'd happily read every week!
