Karen is in Seattle attending the Yarn Market Business Conference with Amanda! They're having a fine time enjoying the Spring-like weather while those of us left behind here are trying not to be washed away by the rain. (Wait, isn't Seattle the one that's supposed to be rainy??)
They especially enjoyed a wonderful presentation by Cinda Baxter, founder of the 3/50 Project, which we've mentioned on the blog before. Fresh Purls is joined by many of the fellow merchants on Hope Street in supporting 3/50. (At left, Cinda & Karen)
The Yarn Market conference is a business event, not a product showcase, though it wraps up with a Yarn Crawl. Meanwhile Karen and Amanda have managed to squeeze in a bit of sightseeing, during which Karen found herself mysteriously drawn to the original Starbucks store. She titles this photo "In the Belly of the Beast!"
