What's On Our Needles: June 9

Another week, another batch of projects going on here at Fresh Purls! Here is what we’re working on this week…

Helen is hard at work on
Rain, a wrap of her own design in Schaefer Yarns Laurel. The color is a beautiful light green with a nice sheen. The final garment and pattern will be revealed at our Christmas in July…Oops August event on August 16!

Karen has gotten the designing bug in a big way this spring, and is off and running with a Tank Top of her own design. The name hasn’t come to her yet, but the design sure has. She is using Misti Alpaca’s Tonos Pima Silk to knit a beautiful leaf motif for the bust line and a stockinette top. She plans to sew fabric to the leaf band for the bottom half of the top. We can’t wait to see the finished product.

Sherry
is nearly finished knitting Rill, a Berroco pattern using
Seduce. The cardigan is knit in one piece from the bottom up. Sherry said that the directions for the arms leading into the yoke were a little funky, but it worked out great. As you can see, this is going to be a really pretty summer cardigan!

Thinking summer, Becky has started Petrie, a sleeveless top from the Summer 2010 issue of
Knitty.com. So far she’s in love. She’s knitting it in a variegated colorway of Misti Alpaca’s Pima Silk. It’s colorful – and green of course – soft, smooth, and a dream to knit with.
