May Classes

May is typically a time to wind-down classes and learning.  Graduations are on the horizon and summer vacation is tantalizingly close.  Not at Fresh Purls though!  We're still going strong with our class schedule.  There are two great classes scheduled.  Call to register at (401) 270-8220.

Knitting In the Round: May 17, 6:30-8:30
Teacher: Becky
Cost: $25

In this class Becky will provide instruction on the various methods of knitting in the round.
Double Pointed Needles (DPNs)
Using 2 Circulars
Magic Loop
In the Round on a circular needle

This could be a great class for getting ready for summer knitting!  Summer is an ideal time to work on small projects like socks, mittens, or hats.  All knit in the round and not sitting in your lap making you hot!

Materials: double pointed needles, a 16” circular and 24” circular of the same size, a 32” or 40” circular needle, yarn appropriate to your needles, and stitch markers.

Sew Don't Graft: May 22, 10am-12pm or 2-4pm
Teacher: Christiane Burkhard
Cost: $35

Designer Christiane Burkhard, who was here on the Sunday of the Yarn Crawl, has developed a way to graft knitted pieces together to avoid having to seam them.  It's pretty cool.  She'll be here on Sunday, May 22 teaching 2 classes on the technique.  Your class fee covers both the class time and your choice of her Priska (a neckwarmer) or Talvi (a neat scarf) patterns.

You have a choice of a morning or afternoon class.
