My Favorite Yarns - Barbara's pick

We caught up with Barbara and asked her to name her favorites. She had no trouble coming up with a basketful of candidates.

Clockwise, starting at the upper right.

Noro Silk Garden, color=275. "Color gradations, texture, drape, great on all counts."

Dream in Color Classy, color=Lipstick lava. "Perfect for baby things, bright colors, machine wash, nice weight."

Mountain Colors Bearfoot, color=Sweet pea "Some of my favorite socks, a little nylon adds strength, machine washable."

Tilli Tomas Pure & Simple 100% silk, color=American Beauty. "When you need a little red in your life, this is it- dynamite color!" (Blogger's note: this is a deep crimson color, like an American Beauty rose. The photo does not begin to do it justice.)

Misti Alpaca Tonos Chunky, color=TTC021. "Great colors, hard to choose- same softness as 100% alpaca, but with more stability for garments."

Koigu Kpppm 100% merino, color=513 "COLORS- the best- great for socks, mittens, scarves. Try it doubled for a heavy worsted weight."

Manos Silk Blend. "Colors, texture, no need to say more."

...and in the center of the yarn bouquet:

Noro Kochoran, color=50. "Same great Noro colors, the little bit of angora is pretty special."

Barbara knitted the sweater she is wearing in the picture. You can find the pattern in Best of Interweave Knits: it's the Pearl Buck Swing Jacket. "It's an easy knit," assures Barbara.
