Mother (Earth's!) Day on Hope Street

The weather was spectacular. Music, food, activities... all of it came together for the first "Hope for the Earth" celebration hosted by the Hope Street Merchants Association on Sunday.

It was a hot, breezy day in April, tempting everyone outside into the sunshine. Even the merchants' wares made it out onto the sidewalk for the day. Great music was provided by the Rolie Polie Guacamole band (thanks, Rochambeau Branch Library!)

Our good friends at Kreatelier were a bright spot on the sidewalk, with their colorful fabric products.

In front of Fresh Purls, Amanda helped nature-loving kids to construct their bird's nests using natural materials like twigs, leaves and pine needles, dressed up with colorful lengths of yarn.

A big thank you to the merchant association and to everyone who participated in this wonderful kickoff for the outdoor season.
