Send a hug overseas

Want to do something to benefit our service men and women this winter? Diman Regional High School in Fall River is challenging local knitters to make scarves which they will gift wrap and ship to Afghanistan. (Crafters can also sew scarves out of fleece.) It's part of the "Warm Hometown Hugs" program to remind US military members that we are thinking of them. This effort is being promoted with the help of radio station WCTK "Cat Country."

Scarves must be in earth tones such as browns, tans, greens, black or navy. (Bright colors, though cheerful, can be dangerous!) The deadline for completing your scarf or scarves is Monday, November 16. The scarves can be delivered to the Warm Hometown Hugs coordinator at Diman High School, or you can arrange for a pick-up by the representative from WCTK. Click on either of the links above for more details.
