Amanda demonstrates tuck stitch

Once again, Amanda makes an appearance as a designer on Berroco's website. This time two of her scarf patterns are being offered as free downloads from Knit Bits #321. The Chakna scarf uses an adaptation of a machine knitting technique called "tuck stitch" to create a 2-color honeycomb pattern. In this YouTube video, Amanda shows you how to do this unusual technique.

Amanda finishes her degree program at RISD this month, and will be relocating back to Michigan before Christmas. We hate to think about losing her, but we know we'll be hearing a lot from her and about her as she pursues her knitting dreams. If you want to say goodbye to Amanda before she goes, consider dropping in on Holiday Knit Therapy tonight or next Monday night.
