Coming soon...

...the second in a series of blogs about what we're looking forward to this Spring.

We've got a big order from Skacel about to be shipped, containing lots of yarns that will be new to our shop, some of them are brand new products being introduced this year. What are they? We're glad you asked!

First of all, there's Bahia, a super-soft yarn in an easy-care blend of viscose and acrylic that comes in a whole mess of colors, from neutrals to brights.

Then, there's Fashion Silk, a caged yarn that is spun of silk strengthened with 15% nylon. Skacel has some really good-looking patterns for this yarn, too (pictured left).

Another yarn that's new to the shop is Sojobama, which sounds like it was named after our new President, but which apparently refers to its soy/bamboo fiber content. Soy and bamboo are both great fibers for the warmer months, and we've ordered a spectrum of terrific colors.

Savanna is a cotton rayon blend in variegated colors, some subtle and others dramatic. Mandy is a cotton/acrylic blend in solids and coordinating multicolors. Finally, Sebovia is new in 2009. A dramatic combination of 60% raw silk and 40% viscose, the patterns pictured on the website are inspiring (pictured right).

We'll put a note in the blog when the shipment arrives. Stay tuned.
