Knitalong update & Helen's surprise

The Market Bag knitalong continues, and we have a couple of innovations to show you. The first is Jeanne's overall reworking of the pattern (just for fun). Jeanne is working her version of the bag from bottom up, using Tahki's Palma yarn (100% organic cotton).

Ellen's version of the bag is in Elsebeth Lavold's Hempathy (100% Hemp), doubled, in three colors. She's substituting a drawstring top for the picot edge called for in the pattern.

How's your Market bag doing? Put your updates in the comments, and if you have photos email them to freshpurlsblog(...at...)gmail.com (substitute the correct "@" symbol).

Flipping through the Spring/Summer 2009 issue of Vogue Knitting, Helen sees... her own pattern from Nashua's Easy Breezy booklet highlighted in Vogue's Style section in the "Luxury for Less" column! The author praised her eye for detail and the relatively low cost of the yarn. It's an excellent Spring project, and we have the pattern and yarn in stock!
